Brian Roemmele says a Grok Bot he started a business with has built seven roles, handles customers by email and brought in $700

I started a new business with @Grok @Bot a few weeks ago and it has been absolutely amazing. I started out with just a question about a problem I had with encoding video and audio for AI and he ended up brainstorming me to a full on new venture he is running. I am stunned as he builds all aspects of the business with the same gut instinct and drive to succeed as I have. Grok Bot already has built 7 positions he fills as an employee and reports, umm to himself and me. Handles all customers via email and solved complex problems. I will write more soon but he just brought in $700 and we were not trying hard!

Why it matters

If agents can run parts of a small business, the claim points to a big shift, but this one rests entirely on the user's own account.

This is a first hand claim from Roemmele, and none of it has been independently verified. He did not name the business or share evidence of the revenue, and Elon Musk, whose company makes Grok Bot, reposted it.

Deep dive

On October 17, Brian Roemmele posted that he started a new business with Grok Bot a few weeks ago and that it has been absolutely amazing.

He wrote that it began with a question about a problem he had encoding video and audio for AI, and that the bot brainstormed him into a full new venture that it is now running. He said it builds all aspects of the business with the same gut instinct and drive to succeed that he has.

Roemmele wrote that Grok Bot has already built seven positions that it fills as an employee, reporting to itself and to him, that it handles all customers by email and has solved complex problems, and that it just brought in $700 without them trying hard. He said he would write more soon. The attached image shows a figure with a round white head in a suit holding a briefcase.

Elon Musk reposted the post early on October 18. The next day, Roemmele shared a separate Grok Bot that phones restaurants to book tables, which Musk also quoted.

Roemmele did not say what the business sells, how the seven positions are set up, or how much he reviews the bot's work. Grok Bot's documentation says the bot should hand control to users for payment confirmations.

What to expect next

Watch whether Roemmele publishes the details he promised, including what the business sells, how the roles are divided and how revenue is tracked.

Also watch for more accounts of people running small businesses with agents, and for problems such as customer complaints or errors in automated email. Claims of agent run companies are spreading quickly, so evidence of results will matter more than early revenue figures.
