A filmmaker says he used Grok and Grok Bot to build his own video editor in three to four days to replace Adobe Premiere, and Elon Musk amplifies it

I don't give a damn what they say about @ElonMusk anymore. I just used his @Grok/@Bot combo to free myself from 25+ years of captivity to Adobe Premiere. I now have my OWN video editor that does what *I* want. 3-4 days of effort on my part. DAYS. And soon I'm gonna post the source code for free so anyone can download it and use @Grok/@Bot to modify it to their requirements. It may not work for you as is, but you can modify it. So if you want me to listen to your jealous evil rants about how Elon did this or Elon did that, fevered ravings from ugly minds about how horrible he is, you're going to have to do something for me at least as GOOD as freeing me from 25+ years in the clutches of Adobe. Otherwise you and your ravings are useless to me. Be at least as useful as @ElonMusk has been to me.

Context

Why it matters

Users building personal replacements for professional software is the kind of story SpaceX is promoting for Grok Bot, though it rests on individual accounts.

These are first hand anecdotes from users and have not been verified. Elon Musk, whose company makes Grok Bot, quoted both posts, so the amplification is promotional.

Deep dive

On October 17, FilmLadd posted that he used the Grok and Grok Bot combination to free himself from more than 25 years of captivity to Adobe Premiere, and that he now has his own video editor that does what he wants.

He wrote that it took three to four days of effort on his part, and that he plans to post the source code for free so anyone can download it and use Grok and Grok Bot to modify it, though it may not work for others as is. Most of the rest of the post defends Musk against critics. The attached meme contrasts a sunny path with a round white character against a stormy path with the Adobe logo.

That evening, Musk quoted the post with a heart.

Musk also quoted a post by Texas Twins Dad, who wrote that he first subscribed to learn about Grok Bot and that it is now his personal agent. He said his favorite uses are booking appointments and solving taxes, that it felt too slow at launch but now responds instantly, and that he uses it through Grok Voice from his Cybertruck, where it even pulls up a web browser. Musk added: Try out Grok @Bot!

Neither user shared details or evidence, and FilmLadd has not yet published his editor's code.

What to expect next

Watch whether FilmLadd releases the source code as promised, which would show how capable the editor is and whether others can adapt it as he suggests.

Also watch how SpaceX uses user stories like these in marketing Grok Bot, and whether more creators report replacing paid software with personal tools built by agents. Independent reviews would help show how such tools compare with established products like Premiere.
