Context
A Chinese open model line moving into the top tier of independent rankings adds pressure on rivals, if Ant ships the weights it promises.
Ant Ling is the large model team at Ant Group, which publishes models under the inclusionAI name. Artificial Analysis independently lists the model at 44 on its index, but the agentic gains in the post are Ant's own figures.
Deep dive
On October 22, Ant Ling introduced Ling 3.1 Flash 1019, saying it scores 44 on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index, up from 41 for Ling 3.1 Flash. It claimed gains in agentic work, with AA Briefcase rising from about 1400 to 1524 Elo and AutomationBench AA from 62% to 68%, and said API access and open weights are coming soon.
Artificial Analysis confirms the headline number. Its model page lists Ling 3.1 Flash 1019 at 44, and its changelog lists the earlier Ling 3.1 Flash at 41. A separate model routing blog, Orca Router, noted that Artificial Analysis lists no public API and a proprietary license for now.
The Briefcase and AutomationBench numbers come from Ant's post and were not checked against Artificial Analysis's detailed results here. Because no weights or API are public yet, outside developers cannot test the model themselves. The chart in the post places it near other models scoring in the mid 40s.
What to expect next
Watch for Ant to release the open weights and API it says are coming soon, which would let developers check the results. Also watch the license terms when weights arrive, and how it compares with other Chinese models scoring in the mid 40s once pricing is known. A detailed Artificial Analysis breakdown would show where the gains come from. Rival Chinese labs may answer with their own updates.
