Context

Why it matters

The updates push Grok Bot further toward an assistant that can act across messages, calls and files for its users.

Matt Palmer works on Grok Bot at SpaceXAI, according to his profile, so this is a first hand product post. Grok Bot is the agent product covered often in this deck, and Elon Musk quoted both this post and a separate release summary from the account X Freeze.

Deep dive

On October 20, Matt Palmer posted a video walkthrough of what is new in Grok Bot, with chapters for new chat cards, speed, draft edits, email aliases, X DMs, tagging the bot, connectors, voice calls, notifications, invites and an Android assistant, and access lists, unread markers, routines and sign in. This team ships, he wrote.

The video shows the bot checking X Chat message requests, editing an email draft, taking a voice call, and inviting teammates with roles such as manager and collaborator. Several of these features were covered earlier in this deck as they rolled out, including email aliases on October 14 and X Chat access on October 16, so the video is partly a roundup.

Separately, X Freeze, a fan account that often promotes Musk's companies, summarized Grok Bot version 0.71.2. It said users can now send files up to 250 MB and videos up to 1 GB, up to 20 files in one message, that notifications are smarter, and that forms arrive pre filled with what the bot already knows. The release graphic it shared shows the same figures.

Elon Musk quoted Palmer's post with Big Grok Bot update and the X Freeze post with Grok Bot upgrades. Neither he nor Palmer gave usage figures.

What to expect next

Watch whether SpaceXAI publishes release notes that confirm the version 0.71.2 limits and the Android assistant, which the video lists but does not detail. The X DMs and voice call features will be tested on how well they handle privacy and permissions, an issue users raised earlier. Also watch whether the team keeps up its pace of near daily updates, which Musk has said is about 20 improvements a day.
