Context

Why it matters

Small speed and design changes affect how comfortable people are handing everyday tasks to a chat agent that takes actions for them.

This is a first hand post from the official Grok Bot account. It gives no figures for how much faster the bot has become.

Deep dive

On October 16, the Grok Bot account posted: We've made some improvements to Grok Bot's quality, polish, and speed. It added that cards in chat have a new design with a cleaner layout.

The attached screenshot shows a user asking Grok Bot to draft an investor update based on the latest in their Notion notes and Stripe. Grok Bot replies that it has this week's numbers and shows a card asking which sections the update should cover, with options for revenue and burn, key hires, product launches and asks for investors, plus a Done button.

Cards are interactive boxes inside the chat that let users pick options or view app content without typing. Grok Bot added live app cards in chat with version 0.70.2, as covered on October 13.

The update follows a busy week for the product. Earlier on October 16, SpaceXAI's Grok Bot team published ten of its own bot templates, and a user said Grok Bot can now read and manage X Chat messages, both covered in this deck.

The post does not list specific speed gains or say which quality issues were fixed.

What to expect next

Watch whether Grok Bot publishes release notes with specific speed numbers or quality fixes behind this update.

Also watch user reactions to the new card design, and whether more apps adopt interactive cards in chat. Competing agents from OpenAI and Anthropic have also been pushing speed improvements, so how quickly each responds is becoming a visible point of comparison for people choosing an agent.
