Context
Fast, cheap image editing that keeps products and faces consistent is what online stores and marketers need to edit whole catalogs, and Krea is pitching Krea 3 at exactly that.
This is a first hand launch post from Krea, and the speed and quality comparisons with Nano Banana Pro and GPT Image 2.5 are the company's own claims without independent tests. Krea's blog and changelog describe pricing and API access.
Deep dive
On October 15, Krea posted that it was opening the beta for Krea 3, which it called a new frontier for image editing. It claimed end to end 2K edits in under 8 seconds, quality that matches Nano Banana Pro or GPT Image 2.5, bounding box control and precise edits over several turns.
Krea's blog post says most edits come back in under 8 seconds at native 2K, that the model leaves alone what the user did not ask it to change, such as product labels or a person's face, and that it accepts several reference images per edit. It lists pricing of $0.06 per image at 2K and $0.03 at 1K, and says the model is live on krea.ai for its 30 million users and through partners including fal, Together AI, OpenRouter and Replicate.
Krea's changelog says the Krea 3 API is in early access for workspaces in the beta, supports up to 8 reference images and regional edits that keep the rest of an image pixel exact, and offers Zero Data Retention for enterprise customers.
Krea did not publish independent benchmarks backing the comparison with Google's and OpenAI's image models.
What to expect next
Watch independent side by side tests against Nano Banana Pro and GPT Image 2.5 to see whether Krea 3's quality claim holds outside Krea's own examples.
Also watch how fast the beta opens to everyone, whether big ecommerce users adopt it for catalog editing at the quoted price, and how larger labs respond on speed and cost. Pricing changes after the beta will also matter for heavy users.
