Figma adds 20 MCP partners at Config India, including Muse, Mistral, Notion and Linear, and opens beta for code layers on the canvas

Context
Figma is becoming a shared workspace between designers and coding agents, and the new partners let those agents read and build with Figma context from tools people already use.
This is a first hand announcement from Figma at Config India, its largest international conference, held October 15 in Bengaluru. The features are company claims, and most are in beta. Figma's MCP server already worked with tools such as Claude Code, ChatGPT and Cursor.
Deep dive
On October 15, Figma posted that it was announcing 20 new MCP partners at Config India: Amp, ClickUp, Dia, Junie by JetBrains, Linear, Meta Muse, Mistral, Notion, OpenCode, Sarvam Agents, Agentforce Vibes, Amazon Quick, Amplitude Wave, Cline, Delta, Dust, Glass, Gradial, Writer, Zed and Microsoft 365 Copilot. MCP is the protocol that lets AI agents connect to a product's context and tools.
Figma's help center says the MCP server now works faster and more reliably while using fewer tokens, can create interactive code layers on the canvas, and can read and write more of Figma. Its catalog already listed clients such as Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor and GitHub Copilot, so these are additions.
In a second post, Figma announced Code Layers, Specs and Guidelines in open beta, Code Sources in closed beta, and Payload rolling out in the coming weeks. Code Layers let teams collaborate with code on the canvas. Specs is a native home for written context that teams and agents share. Guidelines help agents follow a published design system, and Code Sources import code from GitHub or npm. Payload is an open source backend framework that Figma says scaffolds a CMS, database, APIs and auth inside Figma Make.
Figma said Config India was its largest international conference, with over 30,000 people registered in person and virtually, and it announced an MCP partnership with the Indian AI company Sarvam.
What to expect next
Watch how quickly the 20 partners ship working integrations, and whether developers actually use code layers instead of exporting designs to their own editors.
Also watch whether Figma's token and speed claims for its MCP server hold up against earlier versions, and how the India focus, including the Sarvam partnership, changes its competition with design and coding tools in that market.
