Why it matters

Meta is claiming results that match or beat leading OpenAI and Anthropic models on several agent benchmarks, its strongest bid yet to rejoin the frontier.

Muse Wonder builds on Muse Spark, the first model from Meta Superintelligence Labs, released in April. Meta launched Muse, its personal AI agent app, on September 8. The benchmark comparisons are from Meta's own testing.

Deep dive

On October 12, Mark Zuckerberg posted: Introducing Muse Wonder, our new family of frontier models with state of the art performance for personal and professional agentic work.

According to Meta's announcement, the series includes Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full, its most capable models to date. Muse Wonder is available through the Meta Model API and Muse Code, while Muse Wonder Full is available to Muse Code subscribers. Meta said Muse Wonder will soon power more of its Muse agent, rolling out first to subscribers. The company described two features: Active Memory, which carries relevant details across conversations, and Active Focus, which keeps working toward a goal, recovers from errors and checks in before anything important.

The table Zuckerberg shared compares the models with Claude Fable 5.1, GPT 6 Astra and Claude Opus 5.5. Muse Wonder Full leads on several tests, including 59.1 on Meta's Personal Superintelligence Index and 79.0 on DeepSWE 1.1, but trails on others, such as ProgramBench, where Claude Opus 5.5 scores 70.5 against 59.0, and the Artificial Analysis Index, 56 against 58. The Verge noted it is unclear how the models compare with Google's Gemini 4 Argon.

Meta said a full safety report will be available soon.

What to expect next

Watch for independent benchmark results, especially from Artificial Analysis and other outside evaluators, and for Meta's promised safety report with additional evaluations.

Also watch how quickly Muse Wonder reaches Muse users beyond subscribers, how Meta prices the Model API against OpenAI and Anthropic, and whether the launch helps Muse hold onto users after its strong start, given Sensor Tower data showing ChatGPT overtaking it by Day 14.
