Cognition lets Devin users connect a personal ChatGPT Go, Plus or Pro plan to pay for GPT model usage
You can use any personal ChatGPT plan with Devin Just connect your Go, Plus, or Pro plan to Devin and all GPT model usage will draw down from you plan's quota

Context
Developers who already pay for ChatGPT can now spend that allowance inside Devin instead of buying extra Devin credits, a sign of coding tools sharing usage across subscriptions.
Devin is Cognition's AI coding agent, available in the cloud, as a desktop app and as a CLI. On September 29, Cognition launched Sign in with ChatGPT for eligible Plus and Pro plans, according to its blog. The October 9 post adds ChatGPT Go to the plans that can be connected.
Deep dive
Cognition posted that any personal ChatGPT plan can now be used with Devin, and that once a Go, Plus or Pro plan is connected, all GPT model usage draws down from that plan's quota.
According to Devin's docs, Cognition calls this token sharing. After a user links a ChatGPT account and turns on the Use your ChatGPT plan switch, requests Devin makes to OpenAI models are billed to the ChatGPT plan and do not count against the Devin quota or on demand credits. The docs say free ChatGPT accounts cannot be linked, and that the feature is available on Devin's self serve Pro, Max and Teams plans but not on its Free plan or Enterprise accounts.
The docs and Cognition's blog say only part of a Devin Cloud session is covered. Devin Cloud mixes several models, so the ChatGPT plan pays for the OpenAI share while other models still use Devin quota. In Devin Desktop and the CLI, any GPT model a user picks is billed to the ChatGPT plan. Cognition's blog says usage counts toward the Codex and ChatGPT Work allowance in the plan, that users can set a lower limit for Devin, and that sessions fall back to Devin usage when that limit is reached.
Inc. reported that Devin Pro and Max cost $20 and $200 a month.
What to expect next
Watch whether other coding agents strike similar deals with OpenAI or with Anthropic and Google, letting users bring an existing subscription.
Also watch how OpenAI handles heavy third party use of ChatGPT allowances, since agent sessions can burn through quotas quickly. Any change to ChatGPT plan limits or terms would directly affect how much Devin work a connected plan can cover.
