vLLM says it now matches DeepInfer, DeepSeek's own inference engine, when serving DeepSeek V4.1 Flash, and posts a record AgentX result on a GB300 NVL72 rack (opens the post on X)

vLLM matches DeepInfer, DeepSeek's own engine for DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash, on DeepSeek's decode configuration across batch sizes 8 to 256, and does it at DEP32 against DeepInfer’s EP64DP64. DeepInfer was originally built on vLLM. By integrating DeepSeek's open-source kernels and extensively optimizing prefill and decode, vLLM now matches DeepInfer's performance curves.

Two line charts from vLLM and Inferact comparing vLLM and DeepInfer serving DeepSeek V4.1 Flash. The decode chart plots output tokens per second per GPU against tokens per second per user for batch sizes 8 to 256, with the two curves nearly overlapping. The prefill chart shows vLLM producing more new tokens per second than DeepInfer at similar latency. A footnote says DeepInfer values were read off DeepSeek's published charts, hardware differs, and this is not an engine to engine speedup comparison.

Circular AI Financing Draws Scrutiny as Broadcom Lends Anthropic Up to $42 Billion and Nvidia Invests Over $40 Billion in AI Customers (opens the post on X)

The AI boom is increasingly running on circular money, and it’s reminding some investors of 2008, per Bloomberg. Chipmakers and cloud giants invest in or lend to AI companies, which then use that money to buy chips and computing power from the very same companies. Recent examples: - Broadcom, $AVGO, agreed to lend Anthropic up to $42 billion to buy chips and computing hardware - Nvidia, $NVDA, has put more than $40 billion into AI companies this year, including $30 billion in OpenAI.

The Information reports OpenAI is winning Anthropic coding customers such as Replit, Rippling and DataCamp with steep discounts (opens the post on X)

OpenAI is winning over Anthropic customers with steep discounts, gaining coding workloads at companies like Rippling and Replit while potentially deepening its own losses. But Anthropic’s renewed lead on OpenRouter suggests better models can quickly win users back. At least this explains why consumer sub plans were halved I guess...

Excerpt from The Information saying OpenAI's efforts to undercut Anthropic on price are producing results. In May, Anthropic models powered 57% of coding work at Rippling and OpenAI models 16%; now 52% runs on OpenAI and 18% on Anthropic, CEO Parker Conrad said.

AWS Reportedly Stockpiles $5 Billion in Nvidia GB300 Server Racks in Warehouses While Waiting for Data Center Power (opens the post on X)

Nvidia is accused of worsening the gaming GPU shortage by prioritising AI hardware for Big Tech. The claim is that Nvidia is sending huge amounts of GPUs to companies building AI data centres, even when some of that hardware cannot be used yet because the data centres don’t have enough power. Companies like Amazon receive billions in Nvidia AI hardware before data centres have enough power. About $5 billion in GB300 systems were delivered to AWS facilities, with another $3 billion monthly expected, leaving some unused in warehouses.

Users Report Claude Triggers Safety Classifier Mid Response When Asked to Use Reverse Engineer Anything MCP Tool (opens the post on X)

Anthropic may have just klled REA. Users are reporting that Claude now hits a safety check when asked to use REA (Reverse Engineer Anything) for detailed reverse-engineering work, even after completing the research. REA itself is an open-source MCP tool that lets AI coding agents inspect software locally, trace how features work, and use that information to build compatible implementations

Theo says he confirmed a bug on Anthropic's side that makes Claude Agents SDK usage drain five hour limits faster than Claude Code (opens the post on X)

Spent a lot of time on this today. I confirmed it's a real bug on Anthropic's side. To be clear: this does not affect weekly limits. All Agents SDK usage will drain your 5h limits faster than using Claude Code directly. I have reported this to Anthropic, hoping for a fix soon.

Screenshot of a test summary saying that for the same tokens, T3 burns the five hour limit about 1.7 times faster than the interactive Claude Code interface while the weekly limit moves at the same rate. A table lists runs: interactive runs added about 7% to the five hour meter, while T3 and claude p runs added 9% to 16%, with every run adding 2% to the weekly limit.

SemiAnalysis finds six Texas datacenter campuses totaling 8.7GW need air permits during Governor Abbott's pause on datacenter permits (opens the post on X)

We looked at each Texas site planning on-site power that falls under Governor Abbott’s Sept 21 directive, which tells TCEQ to stop issuing any permit tied to a datacenter until ERCOT finishes its review, and found six campuses, 8.7GW in all, needing air permits during the pause. (1/5)🧵

SemiAnalysis timeline titled Six Texas campuses wait on TCEQ for on site power permits, base case a one quarter slip. It lists Vantage, Google and Nexus campuses as partly permitted at 5.2GW, SpaceX campus 1 as filed but not issued at 1.4GW, and SpaceX campus 2 and CloudBurst as not yet filed at 2.1GW, with the TCEQ pause running from September 21 to about December 10.

Claude Code engineer Thariq Shihipar leaves Anthropic after more than a year scaling the coding agent (opens the post on X)

I’ve left Anthropic after more than a year of working on Claude Code and seeing it scale larger than I ever imagined. I have really loved working at Ant and believe deeply in the mission, and most of all, the idea of a race to the top. The idea that if we work hard and responsibly, we can raise the bar and inspire others to great outcomes. And if we all push each other to be better, things can be radically good. I will carry the spirit of this with me forever. My colleagues at Anthropic are the most talented, thoughtful, competent, and earnest people I have ever met. I am glad they are at the wheel and trust them deeply. To the community on X, thank you for everything. You’ve made this the most fun (and sometimes stressful) job I’ve ever had. For me, it is time for a bit of a break before diving into something new. If you want more excellent Claude Code content, you should follow @addyosmani , @lydiahallie, @_catwu, @ClaudeDevs and of course @bcherny who started it all.

Claude Code desktop creator Anthony Morris announces his departure from Anthropic (opens the post on X)

Yesterday was my last day at Anthropic. I created Claude Code on desktop because I believe everyone can be a builder. Every feature request and bug report we got from this community was a gift that impacted millions of lives. I’m eternally grateful for those gifts, the product wouldn’t be what it is without you. Anthropic is doing some of the most important work of our time. Contributing to that mission will forever be a career highlight for me. I never imagined I’d get to contribute to something so special in my lifetime. Walking away from my best friends, a product I poured my heart into, and the mission was the hardest thing I’ve done in my career. But now I have some free time for GTA VI. I'm already itching to get back to addressing all your feedback. I'll share what's next soon!
