Meta Begins Rolling Out Real Time Voice Calling and Shareable Avatars on Its Muse AI Agent App

META 馃敟: Voice calling functionality is gradually rolling out on Muse since yesterday. This feature enables realtime voice conversations with Muse agent.

Context

Why it matters

Adding low latency voice calling and customizable avatars turns Meta's Muse from a text and coding assistant into an interactive multimodal agent.

Meta Superintelligence Labs, led by Alexandr Wang, has been rapidly expanding its Muse consumer and builder platform following the release of Muse Wonder and agentic web building workflows earlier in October.

Deep dive

Meta has begun gradually rolling out real time voice calling inside its Muse AI platform over the weekend, enabling users to hold spoken conversations with their Muse agent while it works, according to screenshots shared by TestingCatalog on Sunday. In a separate update, TestingCatalog noted that Meta is also preparing a feature that lets users share custom Muse Avatars with other people.

The voice rollout comes as Meta Superintelligence Labs chief Alexandr Wang shared examples on Sunday of users building full web stores and visual projects with Muse and Muse Wonder. Combining live voice conversation with background agent execution allows users to talk through tasks hands free while the agent writes code or browses.

Because the voice calling rollout is gradual, availability currently varies by account and region.

Adding spoken interaction alongside shareable custom personas positions Muse to compete both as a consumer companion application and as a collaborative workspace where users can guide long running web and software creation tasks by voice.

What to expect next

Users will compare Muse's voice latency, interruption handling, and tool execution speed against OpenAI's ChatGPT Voice, Google's Gemini Live, and xAI's Grok Bot voice memos and phone calling. As real time voice and shareable avatars reach more Muse users, Meta will test whether combining conversational voice with autonomous coding and web creation drives higher daily engagement across its consumer AI ecosystem.
