Google Prepares Dedicated Managed Agents Hub Inside Google AI Studio Built on Agent Compute Engine
GOOGLE 🔥: Managed Agents are coming to Google AI Studio soon. Users will be able to "Inspect and manage their autonomous AI agents, their tools, environments, and triggers" from a dedicated Agents hub. Earlier this week, Google announced its new Agent Compute Engine for GCP, on top of which this solution is likely being built.
Context
Giving developers a central dashboard inside Google AI Studio to inspect tools, execution environments, and triggers brings Google's developer workflow in line with managed agent platforms from Anthropic and OpenAI.
Earlier in October 2026 Google introduced Agent Compute Engine on Google Cloud Platform to provide sandboxed runtime infrastructure for autonomous Gemini agents, competing with Anthropic's Claude Managed Agents and OpenAI's agent platform.
Deep dive
Feature tracker TestingCatalog reported on Sunday that Google is preparing to launch a dedicated Managed Agents hub inside Google AI Studio, sharing a screenshot of the upcoming interface description. According to the UI text spotted in the build, the hub will allow developers to inspect and manage their autonomous AI agents alongside each agent's connected tools, execution environments, and event triggers.
The addition brings managed agent orchestration directly into Google AI Studio, which serves as Google's fast prototyping environment for Gemini developers before they migrate workloads to enterprise Vertex AI. Earlier this week, Google unveiled Agent Compute Engine on Google Cloud Platform, which provides persistent virtual environments and tool execution sandboxes that likely power the new AI Studio hub under the hood.
Note that this feature was surfaced via unreleased interface strings spotted by TestingCatalog and has not yet been formally announced by Google.
By surfacing tools, environment configurations, and automated event triggers in a single interface, Google aims to reduce the friction developers face when moving from prompt prototypes in AI Studio to production multi step agents running continuously in the cloud.
What to expect next
Developers will watch when Google opens public preview access to Managed Agents in AI Studio and what pricing or free tier quotas apply to persistent sandbox environments and scheduled triggers. Once Google opens Managed Agents in AI Studio to all developers, competition among cloud providers will increasingly center on which platform offers the simplest path from a browser prompt to a reliable, scheduled background agent.
