OpenAI's Tibo shares a video of the ChatGPT Space team explaining the product and says slides support was added the day before

What is ChatGPT Space, that is the question. Endearingly awkward at times because it's the actual team working on it. What would you like to see next?

Context

Why it matters

Space is OpenAI's bid to make ChatGPT a shared workplace for teams and agents, putting it up against Notion, Google Workspace and Microsoft.

This is a first hand post from Tibo at OpenAI. ChatGPT Space itself is an existing product confirmed on OpenAI's website and help center, which describes slides rolling out to eligible Pro, Business and Enterprise users.

Deep dive

On October 16, Tibo posted: What is ChatGPT Space, that is the question. He described the video as endearingly awkward at times because it is the actual team working on it, and asked what people would like to see next.

The video, about 83 seconds long, shows team members working at laptops, with on screen labels including Tara Seshan, Product Lead, and Josh Dickens, Product Design. It shows a list of pages on screen and ends on an OpenAI title card surrounded by names and small images.

In a reply, Tibo added that OpenAI added slides support the day before and that it is available in Pro, Business and Enterprise while the company learns from feedback.

OpenAI's Space page describes it as a place to create living documents with ChatGPT and the people you work with, where users can tag in ChatGPT, Codex or their dot. The help center says Slides is rolling out to eligible Pro, Business and Enterprise users with Space access on the web and desktop, with decks that can be edited together and exported to PowerPoint, PDF or Google Slides.

ChatGPT promoted Space on October 14, as covered in that deck.

What to expect next

Watch which features OpenAI adds next after asking for requests, and whether Space and Slides reach Plus users, which several replies asked about.

Also watch how teams compare Space with Notion, Google Workspace and Microsoft Copilot, and whether mobile editing arrives, which OpenAI's page says is coming soon. Adoption by Business and Enterprise customers will show whether shared work with agents catches on.
