SpaceXSI launches Grok Voice 3.0, which debuts at number one on Artificial Analysis's speech to speech index
Introducing Grok Voice 3.0, the world’s most intelligent speech-to-speech model. It excels at resolving customer calls, responds in under a second, and costs less than other frontier models.

Context
Voice agents for customer calls are a fast growing market, and an independent ranking puts SpaceXSI's new model ahead of OpenAI and Google on overall score at the same price as its predecessor.
SpaceXSI, the company formerly known as xAI, announced Grok Voice 3.0 on October 14 as a speech to speech model for voice agents, available in its API at $0.08 per minute, the same price as Grok Voice 2.0. Artificial Analysis is an independent benchmarking firm, so its ranking is a third party result, while the launch post and Eric Jiang's claims about customers switching are the company's own. Grok Voice 2.0 launched in August, according to SpaceXSI's release notes.

Deep dive
On October 14, SpaceXSI introduced Grok Voice 3.0 as the world's most intelligent speech to speech model, saying it excels at resolving customer calls, responds in under a second and costs less than other frontier models.
Artificial Analysis posted that Grok Voice 3.0 debuts at number one on its Speech to Speech Index with 86.9, ahead of OpenAI's GPT Live 1 Astra at 83.2 and Google's Gemini 3.8 Live at 82.6, and up from 81.3 for Grok Voice 2.0. The results are mixed underneath. It ranks third on preference in Artificial Analysis's Speech Agent Arena, behind two Gemini models, second on Tau Voice behind GPT Live 1 Astra, and first on task success at 94.8%. Its average time to first audio was 0.81 seconds, faster than the OpenAI and Google models tested but slower than Grok Voice 2.0. On cost, Artificial Analysis puts it at $4.80 per hour of input audio, cheaper than GPT Live 1 Astra but above GPT Live 1 Sol and Gemini 3.8 Live, so the launch claim of costing less than other frontier models does not hold against every rival.
SpaceXSI's post says Grok Voice powers millions of conversations a day across Tesla and SpaceX. The Verge highlighted its claim that Starlink call centers answer 20,000 calls a day with Grok Voice, about 70% resolved without a human.
Eric Jiang posted that Grok Voice is one of the fastest growing segments on the API, with companies switching from providers like ElevenLabs. Elon Musk quoted the Artificial Analysis results, calling it the world's leading conversational voice model.
What to expect next
Watch whether Grok Voice 3.0 holds the top spot as OpenAI and Google update their live voice models, and whether independent arena preference scores catch up with its benchmark lead.
Also watch for named customers confirming the switching that Eric Jiang describes, and whether SpaceXSI's Starlink call center figures are matched by outside companies deploying the model for support calls at scale.
