Context

Why it matters

AI app builders are moving past building into marketing, and Lovable now wants to handle finding customers for the apps it helps create.

Lovable is an AI app builder that creates web apps from chat prompts. Its October 14 blog post introduces growth tools that create a growth plan and help carry it out across Google Search, YouTube, Google Maps, Google Ads, Facebook and Instagram. This is a first hand product announcement from the company.

Deep dive

On October 14, Lovable posted that it can now help users grow their business, launching ads directly to Google, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram and creating images, video and marketing copy from their builds.

According to Lovable's blog, users ask it to connect an existing Google Ads account or create one, and it installs a Google Tag to measure conversions and recommends a campaign type. For Facebook and Instagram, users sign in with Facebook Login for Business, Lovable connects the ad account and Facebook Page, adds the Meta Pixel to the app, and builds image and video campaigns with a Sales, Leads or Traffic objective.

Lovable's documentation says it asks for approval before publishing through connected accounts or creating and changing campaigns, and that users decide the budget. Its guided setup creates Meta campaigns paused until the user approves activation.

On cost, Lovable says it does not bill users for ad spend or add a service fee. Google or Meta charges the user's own ad account, while creating the growth plan and generating ad assets uses regular Lovable credits. The documentation also notes that results depend on the offer, market and budget, and that new campaigns go through a learning period.

Lovable cofounder Anton Osika posted that the distribution game is hard and that Lovable has just entered the arena.

What to expect next

Watch whether app builders who ship with Lovable actually spend on ads through it, and whether the growth tools become a meaningful source of credit usage for the company.

Also watch whether rivals such as Replit, Bolt and Vercel add similar marketing features, and how Google and Meta treat a third party agent that sets up campaigns, tags and pixels on behalf of new advertisers.
