Subscribers can now spend $100 to $500 a month on the Claude API for their own apps and agents at no extra cost.
The credits were announced alongside Claude Haiku 5.5. Reports on X said Anthropic also halved the Sonnet 5.5 cache read price. The move comes as labs compete on how much usage their consumer plans include.

Alongside Claude Haiku 5.5, Anthropic announced monthly Claude Platform API credits for paid subscribers: $100 a month on Max 5x, $200 on Max 20x, and up to $500 pooled across a Team plan. Anthropic says the credits are for experimenting with tools, apps and agents that call its API, and they work with any Claude model.
According to Anthropic's help center, the credits refresh each billing cycle, do not roll over, and cover the Claude API, Managed Agents, the Agent SDK and the Playground, but not interactive Claude Code use. Anthropic also halved the price of Sonnet 5.5 cache reads, from $0.20 to $0.10 per million tokens, which it says makes Sonnet 5.5 about 20% cheaper on most agentic work.
The move ties consumer subscriptions more closely to developer API spending, giving subscribers a set amount of API use each month without a separate bill.
