CellType Introduces BioSimBench, Built on NVIDIA AI, and Finds Frontier Models Predict Only Part of How Cells Respond (opens the post on X)

Can LLMs simulate biology? We tested frontier models on real lab experiments: predict how cells respond to drugs, gene knockdowns, and immune signals. Even the best get only part of the response right. Lots of room to improve. Introducing BioSimBench, built on @NVIDIAAI. 🧵

Charlie Holtz Says Conductor Is Joining Meta to Work With Nat Friedman and Alexandr Wang at MSL (opens the post on X)

I am very excited to share that Conductor is joining Meta! We have some big, crazy plans for the next interface. If you liked Conductor, you’re gonna love what’s coming. We’re super excited to work with @natfriedman and @alexandr_wang at MSL to build it. They’ve been on an absolute tear, and I’m convinced MSL has the highest talent density of all the labs. A huge thank you to our earliest believers @aaron_epstein, @ilyasu, and @nabeel. And to everyone here who tried Conductor, sent us feedback, and prompt requests - you made this so much fun. Thank you ❤️🚂 Choo choo!

ClaudeDevs Says Background Subagents in Claude Code Now Use Less of Your Usage Limit, With Haiku 5.5 Writing Status Updates (opens the post on X)

Background subagents in Claude Code now use less of your usage limit. A running subagent updates its status line every 30 seconds, and each update used to re-read its whole conversation. Now Haiku 5.5 writes it from short notes instead, so each update costs about 99% less.

Claude Code Loosens a Game Copying Rule So Naming a Game to Describe Mechanics Now Gets an Original Build (opens the post on X)

An update on building games with Claude Code: Last week some of you ran into Claude Code pushing back on game projects it should have just built. We'd added a short rule to the Opus 5.5 prompt to steer Claude away from recreating specific existing games, but it was also kicking in when you referenced one just to describe the mechanics you wanted. We've updated that rule in 2.1.317. You can name a game to describe what you want and Claude should now build an original game in that genre. If you ask for a copy of the original, it'll offer to build something similar instead. We want Claude to be as helpful as possible when you're building something original, but also to protect your work if someone else tries to copy it. We'll keep improving this, so let us know if Claude turns down work that's yours. Thanks to everyone who shared feedback!

Chubby Says Michigan's Newly Elected Democratic Senator Wants to Pause AI, Calling It Bad News for the Buildout (opens the post on X)

This is incredibly bad news. Abdul El-Sayed wants to pause AI, while at the same time, almost every AI data center is being blocked by local communities. Folks fail to realize just how transformative AI is for humanity. It’s a shame.

Pranav Sharan Introduces Aether, Cloud Coding Agents That Run Claude Code or Codex on Your Existing Subscription (opens the post on X)

Today we’re introducing Aether @aetherruntime. The fastest cloud coding agents in the world that you can use with your existing subscription Give it a task and just 20 seconds later your build is running on its own cloud machine. You can pick up from your phone, watch every line, and step in whenever you want as if it was local. Close the laptop. It keeps going. It runs Claude Code or Codex on the Claude or ChatGPT plan you already pay for so there’s not a 2nd AI bill. You only pay for the machine. When it’s done, if code review is enabled, a reviewer agent runs the code with the changes, which catches classes of bugs that can't be found from static analysis. Before building Aether I built infra at Apple, Uber, and HeyGen. I built Aether because the cloud agents I tried before all had drawbacks, and I couldn't imagine building something without it now. It’s free to start.

Lauren Shares Slides From an Upcoming AI Engineer Talk on Shipping 30x More Code Without Reading It (opens the post on X)

some fun slides from my upcoming talk @aiDotEngineer very excited to share how we ship crazy amounts of code (30x'd) without reading it, yet perf is as good if not better then when we launched there's a lot more to improve of course, and the ceiling is far from being reached, but given the relentless shipping speed and our high bar for polish, i think that our agent friendly architecture bets are paying off at taming the slop fun fact: ~230 people landed at least 1 PR to grok bot in october!

Bar chart titled 809 to 10,926 merged PRs a month, showing PRs that touch the Grok Bot team's code: 809 in June, 1,784 in July, 4,203 in August, 5,648 in September and 10,926 in October, 23,370 total.Chart comparing May and now for startup and typing speed: cold launch 2,669 ms to 1,831 ms, relaunch 1,852 ms to 1,200 ms, first paint 2,631 ms to 1,809 ms, and long chat typing median 11.6 ms to 4.5 ms.
